Whatcom Museum TV Ads

November 9, 2009

After years of planning and construction Whatcom Museum’s much-anticipated, and already iconic, Lightcatcher Building is set to open this weekend (Herald article). To help spread the word and stir up some curiosity we developed two TV ads. The ads are currently running in the Seattle area and Whatcom County and were shot & edited by our friends at Hand Crank. FLIR Creative Presents ART & COPY

October 2, 2009

Fall in Bellingham means it’s time for DOCTOBER – Pickford Cinema’s month-long Documentary series. FLIR Creative is proud to be sponsoring the movie Art & Copy running October 23 & 24.

Art & Copy profiles some of the most successful and memorable ad campaigns of all time as well as candid interviews with the creative minds behind them. Kenneth Turan of the LA Times said “They are both subversives and establishmentarians, salesmen and entertainers, people who believe they are in the most exciting business on Earth. They are the giants of modern advertising, and they have some alluring tales to tell.”

Check out the trailer below, and we’ll see you at the Pickford later this month.

Follow up to Marketing 101 seminar: Social Media

May 22, 2009

One of the questions I was asked by multiple people after the marketing seminar was “which social media tool is right for me and my business?” This USA Today article provides a good general summary of the social media heavy-weights giving you a starting point for your small business.

Here are my two cents to add to the article and a recap of what I said at the seminar about tracking mentions of you and your business online:

  1. Set up Google Alerts for your business
  2. If you don’t use Twitter, keep an eye out for you your business/organization using their search tool
  3. Implement Google Analytics or some other analytic system on your website
  4. Create a LinkedIn account, it’s easy and helpful

I’ll be recapping some of the other points from the seminar with blog posts over the coming week. So keep an eye on this blog or follow us on Twitter for instant notification.

New FLIR Creative work: Hoppis Real Estate

    March 3, 2009

Local realtor Joe Hoppis needed help distinguishing himself in a crowded marketplace and conveying his knack for helping people find the right house in the right neighborhood. Using the concept of “wants vs. needs,” we captured actual clients in moments that homebuyers can relate to, resulting in a campaign that rises above typical real estate advertising.
